You probably have a lot of questions. I know I would! So, here are some FAQ’s that new clients often ask.

How do I contact you to ask a question or sign up?

You can email me at robin@robinbrocklisw.com. I’m happy to set up a free 15 minute video consultation. This gives us an opportunity to decide if we’re a good fit. When you are ready to sign up you will be emailed a link from a secure platform, Simple Practice, with all of the necessary electronic paperwork.

Where will we meet?

I offer fully remote services via the secure, HIPPA compliant platform called Simple Practice.

How much do sessions cost?

Sessions are $90 for 50 minutes.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require a 24 hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. So anything less will accrue a $45 fee. I have set aside this time just for you so if you can’t make it it’s really important that I know in advance so that I can offer the time to someone else.

Do you take insurance?

The short answer is, “no”. That said, I can provide you with a Superbill which is a requirement of insurance companies to pay the out of network fee. You would need to contact your carrier to see if they will reimburse you and ask them how you should file the form. I do not file the form or accept payment from your insurance. If you do decide to try to get reimbursement from insurance, the fee still needs to be paid at time of service. Your credit card on file (I’ll send you an electronic form) will be charged the day of your appointment for the session fee or the late cancel/no-show fee. Insurance companies vary wildly as to which will give you a partial reimbursement.

What if I don’t have insurance or don’t plan to use it?

No problem. Your credit card on file will be charged the day of your appointment or in the event of a late cancellation/no show.

What forms of payment do you take? How do I pay?

You will set up a simple credit card authorization form on this platform. It is processed securely through STRIPE. You can use any major credit card or your FSA/HSA card. Please note that I do not have access to your credit card information. That information is kept secure via STRIPE.

What days and times can I schedule?

I do not have any evening or weekend openings. Sessions are scheduled between 8am and 4pm Monday-Thursday, based on availability.

What if I’m on vacation or out of state?

I am licensed in Ohio, so you must be in Ohio for your session to be held. Sessions will not be held in a moving car or by phone. If you come to session and you are out of state, it will be considered a late cancellation as I can not hold your session.

How often do we meet?

You and I will talk over what works best for you based on your needs and budget. Some clients choose to meet weekly at first, and then taper down to every other week, and eventually once per month or less.

What do you treat?

I have many years of experience treating depression, anxiety, relationship problems, grief and life transitions (divorce, aging parents, kids going off to college).

I specialize in treating executive function deficits, such as trouble with organization, motivation, time management, goal setting and attainment, work or school productivity, etc. These are common struggles for people with ADD, but they can affect all of us from time to time, especially when battling depression, anxiety, or major life transitions.

Do you see children?

I do not. I only work with adults, age 18 or older.

Do you do couples counseling?

I do not. I work with individuals only.

What does a therapy session look like?

It really depends on the topic and the person. Think of it like a good talk with a purpose. We will explore your concerns, problem solve, and work to set and achieve your life goals. My clients tell me that they look forward to our time together and that they find my style very relaxing and comfortable.

So, welcome! I’m so glad you’re here and I truly look forward to getting to know you.

If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to reach out and I’ll answer as best I can.
